UFC

One of the things that's really come into its own in the past few years is the UFC. What started as an underground sensation has turned into a cable powerhouse, with many fighters slowly and slowly becoming more well known.

The man who runs the UFC Dana White can really be credited as a marketing genius of sorts. He allows lesser fighters to be on free live Shows on Cable and air lesser PPVS. By doing that he really creates a universe that is really easy to get into. Especially at college cmaopuses, guys are getting into UFC more and more and its easy to say why. Two guys fighting with very little padding is what happens across campuses every weekend.

Whats everyone elses take on the UFC

Youtube rules for finding music.
All I've been doing the past couple days is looking for music on youtube and it's been so great.

Bonnie Tyler

I don't even have to download music, I can just look at all the songs on there and it's so rad. I love it...I really really do

Dance Flick

Really?

The newest of those....awful movies is coming out.

Dance Flick, a parody of dance movies

Ok.....I seriously hate these movies and the people who make them, but mainly its the people who see them. I mean, how can you people justify in this poor economic time to spend 10 bucks to go see jokes that weren't even funny 6 months ago when they are first topical

This entry is awful, but Im just....so mad

Captain America

It wasn't until about...My freshman year in college that I really started getting into comics. A friend found a way to download them online and Marvel's Civil War had just ended, so I was able to catch up on the last major comic event and decide which ones I liked. In the course of that reading, I fell in love with Captain America.

Captain America's story is that of a young man who undergoes a radical treatment to try and serve his country. His powers are just a heightened sense of things and speed, and he is truly the ultimate male.

Well Cap's gonna have a movie in the next two years and he's yet to be cast. I looked at a suggestion board and saw some weird suggestions. Lemme give some of my thoughts on potential stars.

Mark Wahlberg- He is my favorite actor and I love Mark, but he's just too edgy. Cap is supposed to be dignified and idealistic but Mark is just too scary an individual.

Josh Duhammel- What has he ever done, I mean his biggest role was in Transformers and he wasn't a robot so I didn't care.

Aaron Eckhart- If Cap was older, absolutly and hell I wouldnt even mind if he was cast but I think he may be too old.

Jensen Ackles- Some dude from Supernatural? Ok....random

Matt Damon- I don't feel like he's big enough

Leonardo Dicaprio- One of my picks, but he'd need to put on lots of muscle

Brat Pitt- Absolutly up there in choices. The man is pretty much the biggest star in the world and the ultimate male in his own way

Daniel Craig- A sentimental favorite among me and my friends. If they were casting older, Daniel Craig mixes stoicism and toughness extremly well. Layer Cake was a great film and he was great in it.

As for my personal pick

Thomas Jane- He looks like Captain America and if the Punisher is any indication then he just dives himself into his roles and really lives it. He has the Cap look and maybe he'll be cast

5 The Kurrgan- Highlander

What a freaking monster is this guy. A giant monster of a man who sets out to ruin the lives of any immortal he sees. He destroys Connors life and kills his mentor and does.....anything basically to just ruin his life. What a manimal

4 Batman- The Batman movies

I had to limit it to one superhero and batman is it. Nobody else is as ruthless and yet cool and collected like Batman. He's totally rugged and brutal and yet the smartest superhero of them all.

3 Mel Gibson in the Patriot

The past is so badass. Hey kill my son, Ima kill you and suceed and while Im at it...Ill WIN FREEDOM FOR THE COLONIES. Get raped England.

2 Rocky from the Rocky Series

he fought Russians, Champions, badasses and old age and never backed down. The embodiment of the never say die attitude. He may not be bright but he's got heart and has inspired me since I was a kid. How can a man who fights Ivan Drago not be a giant badass.

1. William Wallace in Braveheart

I mean, could you come up wit anything better. I mean his last word is Freedom. That is the definition of badass. You mess with his wife and youre life is essentially ruined. Braveheart ftw

Top list

Ok...here's something new....I decided for the rest of my blogs I might just make some lists for the sake of making lists. Figured they'd be interesting at the very least

Ben's top 10 most badass characters in Film, in no particular order

10. Kham in The Protector.

Tony Jaa plays a young man who seeks to finds his family's stolen elephant and in the process breaks more bones then a million Lawrence Taylors versus a million Joe Theisman's. He gets stabbed and no-sells it and proceeds to deliver insane muay thai skills all over the place.

9. Rorshach- Watchmen.
I mean...staring at death ion the face and demanding it before you'd compromise your beliefs is just totally badass. Plus there was the whole scaring a prison full of psychos into submission without even blinking. He's number 9 for making me question ginger kids' true motivations

8. John McLane-Die Hard.
Not a surprise at all, nobody can be cut to shit by glass and still deliver amazing quips like John McLane. The scene where he outsmart Alan Rickman by asking if he's fucking stupid Hans is just action movie greatness.

7. Chev Chelios in Crank.
You just find out you're going to die in like an hour as a result of being poisoned by a rival. So whatd you do...if youre Chev Chelios then you defy all logic and proceed to kill anyone remotly responsible for your situation. Nobody makes running full speed with a boner quite as badass as Chev.

6. Dignam- The Departed
Clearly when they cast Mark Wahlberg in the role, they told him just to be the world's biggest prick. Another person who just is in your face with no mercy is Dignam in this classic film. Wahlberg steals every scene he's in and his final appearance in the film left be screaming in delight

5. Rambo in Rambo
Nothing needs to be said here.

I'll deliver the rest of my top 5 tomorrow

Stealing movies

The best part of loving cheesy action movies is the villians?

Why?

Because they are always legitimate actors who get to play total assholes and steal films. Their performances are legendary and so fun to watch. Look at these examples

John Lithgow in Cliffhanger
Lance Henriksen in Hard Target
Powers Boothe in Sudden Death

and my personal favorite...Raul Julia in Streetfighter

OH MY GOD, he is awesome as the manical M Bison and a legitimate source of greatness in this film, playing his role to perfection. Probabl my favorite seem comes from an exchange with Chun Li

Chun Li: My father saved his village at the cost of his own life. You had him shot as you ran away. A hero at a thousand paces!
Bison: I'm sorry... I don't remember any of it.
Chun Li: You don't remember?
Bison: For you, the day Bison graced your village was the most important day of your life. But for me... it was Tuesday.

So Evil and Badass, and..excuse me...I'm gonna go watch that movie now that I got on a 4 movie Van Damme pack for 10 dollars

Thrift!
