I love Tom Cruise
and I hate anyone who denies his abilities. I swear to god I am constantly arguing with people over his talent and it really infuriates me. It's a case of people letting the hype get to their head as the man is a fine actor and been in so many great films. People always say he's the same character in every movie.
Not True
if he was the same character in Risky Business as he was in Last Samurai, then the second movie would be even more amazing then it already is
Let's look at some of Tom's Accomplishments
One of the greatest comedic performances of the decade in Tropic Thunder
Golden Globe nominated and all around legendary performance in Risky Business
Golden Globe winning role in Born on the Fourth of July
Golden GLobe nominated role in A Few Good Men
Awesome performance in Interview with a Vampire
Memorable Performance in Top GUn
Academy Award nominated role in Jerry McGuire
Golden Globe nominated role and Academy Award nominated role in Magnolia
Goldgen Globe nominated role in Last Samurai
Astonishing performance in Collateral
As well as personal favorites of mine such as Legend, Mission Impossible, The Outsiders, and more
but yeah
He can't act at alll
There's an old sayin

I agree, and yes the Tropic Thunder roll was great. Although, I am not an out and out cruise fan and prefer more of Daniel Day Lewis if I were to key in on a phenominal actor. Cruise has the ability to really sell whatever roll he is put in. Consumers barely have any idea what it takes to do that consistently.
ReplyDeleteI like to break my Tom Cruise experience into two different people, Tom the Actor and Tom The Celebrity. I really enjoy Tom as an actor and absolutely can not stand Cruise when he I have to listen to him speak. Risky Business, Top Gun and Jerry McGuire are on my short list of great movies but him jumping on Oprah's couch is unnecessary.
