Whatever happened to the action movie?

I mean really, when did everyone decide that movies had to be serious in order to be enjoyable.

It seems like everyday I meet people who just despise the movies I live, especially the film Crank.Crank is a ridiculous action movie about a man injected with a poison that can only be combated with adrenaline. The movie is just an hour and a half of pretty much non-stop action and people despise it

"Its stupid"
"That would never happen"

Who cares?
I mean, I didn't go to see Crank to go see Jason Statham giving elaborate monologues on the state of Darfur. I went to see people die and stuff get blown up. Seriously, it's just a ridiculously rad movie which serves it's purpose to entertain.

Is that so wrong?

  1. no its not so wrong. Personally I'm a big Jason Statham fan, I loved the Transporter. I didn't much care for the other one. The way you felt about Crank, is the same way I felt about Quantam of Solace, the new James Bond film. In my blog a wrote a review about it. Check it out if you feel like it
